From Farm to Factory – The History of Manufacturing in Jay County

Heritage Festival slated for October 1-2, 2011

Held at the Jay County Historical Society Museum and its surrounding grounds, The Heritage Festival is a free public event that continues to grow and engage the interests of some 3,000 visitors every year.

The event traces the county’s manufacturing lineage from those who cut down trees to make wagons, butter tubs, and wooden wheels in the past to those who incorporate modern technology in today’s industries. Activities, demonstrations and presentations focus on the determination, ingenuity and craftsmanship of the people who developed our manufacturing heritage during wilderness times through today. Engaging, creative, entertaining, and educational activities are abundantly available for hands-on learning for all ages.
